blind adam

from athens based artist/designer thanos kyriakides. names blind adam the name refers to the first man ever and the fact that thanos has retinitis pigmentosa a disease that slowly degrades his vision to a point where he may go completely blind. thanos has worked for the greek versions of magazines such as vogue, harper's bazaar, and esquire before taking on blind adam. though the pieces may not cover you the most and keep you the warmest all his pieces are completely wearable, pieces that when worn look like the outlines of classic pieces. his lastest collection is based on the cross in dali's painting "christ of st. john of the cross", the collection explores the 13 parts the cross is made up of in the painting, 3 archetypes, and 3 studies of the actual cross. the pieces have been shown in galleries and boutiques, and where they belong may not be sure just a fine collaboration of art and fashion. the thought in the line, the aesthetic, the inspiration and a man's attempt to create something beautiful while he can still see, this is one of my favourite fashion stories i have ever stumbled upon.
